At Diva Opera, we are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.

This Policy explains when and why we collect personal information about people, how we use it, the conditions under which we may disclose it to others, and how we keep it secure.

We may change this Policy from time to time so please check this page occasionally to ensure that you’re happy with any changes. By using our website, you’re agreeing to be bound by this Policy.

Who are we?
We are Diva Opera, an organisation focused on presenting chamber opera to the highest possible standards. We are supported by our dedicated charity, Friends of Diva Opera Limited, (company no. 03844156; charity no. 1079878), whose registered office is c/o LEES Central London, Hogarth House, 136 High Holborn, London, WC1V 6PX, +44 (0)20 7242 1134.

This Policy applies to both Diva Opera and the charity.

How do we collect information from you?
Generally, we collect your information when you decide to interact with us: when you use our website; to make a donation; to subscribe to our Friends scheme; to ask to be on our mailing list to have updates on our tour schedule; to receive our newsletter by email or post, and occasionally to purchase tickets to our performances.

We collect information in person, in writing and over the telephone.

What type of information is collected from you?
The personal information we collect might include your name, postal address, email address, telephone number, date of birth, and payment card details (these last are not stored in a usable format and are kept only while we process your payment). If you make a donation or purchase tickets from us online your payment card information is not held by us, it is collected by our third party payment processors; they specialise in the secure online capture and processing of credit/debit card transactions, as explained below. If you donate to the charity by bank transfer, we may keep a paper statement which includes your account number and sort code.

How is your information used?
We may use your information to:

  • Process donations that you have made.
  • Process tickets you have purchased.
  • Process Friends of Diva Opera subscriptions.
  • Send you communications which you have requested and may be of interest to you.
  • Seek your views or comments on the services we provide.
  • Notify you of changes to our services.
  • To comply with Companies House, Charity Commission, HMRC (Gift Aid) and other statutory obligations.

Diva Opera processes data for both Diva Opera and the charity; the charity processes data only for the charity.

We review our retention periods for personal information on a regular basis.

We will hold your personal information on our systems only for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity; it will then be deleted.

Who has access to your information?
Diva Opera management and office staff, and trustees of the charity.

We will not sell or rent your information to third parties.

We will not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

When you are using our secure online ticketing pages, your purchase is processed by a third party payment processor, who specialises in the secure online capture and processing of credit/debit card transactions. If you have any questions regarding secure transactions, please contact us.

Your choices
You have a choice about whether or not you wish to receive information from us. If you want to receive direct marketing communications from us, then you can select your choices by ticking the relevant boxes situated on the form on which we collect your information.

We will not contact you for marketing purposes by email or phone unless you have given your prior consent. We will not contact you for marketing purposes by post if you have indicated that you do not wish to be contacted. How you can access, update, or delete your information

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you.

If you ask us to delete your information we will do so, subject to our statutory obligations.

Anne Marabini Young, General Director of Diva Opera, is responsible for reporting any Diva Opera breaches to the Information Commissioner’s Office, and a trustee is responsible reporting any charity breaches to the Information Commissioner’s Office and the Charity Commission.

Our website may contain links to other websites run by other organisations. This Policy applies only to our website‚ so we encourage you to read the privacy statements on the other websites you visit. We cannot be responsible for the privacy policies and practices of other sites even if you access them using links from our website.

This policy statement concerning the use of cookies on the website “www.divaopera.com” is provided to the user pursuant to the decision of the Guarantor for the protection of personal data of May 8, 2014 “Identification of simplified procedures for the information and the acquisition of consent to use cookies”, and in accordance with art. 13 of the Privacy Code (Legislative Decree no. 196/2003). All additional requests for information about the use of cookies on this website can be sent to the email address info@divaopera.com. You can use the same address at any time to exercise the rights you are entitled to as data subject under the Privacy Code (art. 7 et seq. of Leg. Decree no. 196 of June 30, 2003; for example, access, deleting, updating, rectification, integration, etc.), as well as to request the updated list of Data Controllers that may be designated.

We will not disclose or disseminate your personal data.

What are cookies
Cookies are strings of text of small size that the websites visited by users send to their PC or other device used to log onto the website, where they are stored and then retransmitted to the same websites the next time the same user visits the website. Cookies, usually featured in the user’s browser in large number and often stored for a long time, are used to provide a better browsing experience, collect information about the type of browser used, the time spent on the website and the pages visited, language preferences, displayed products, country, etc. generally for statistical purposes with aggregated and anonymous data.

The various types of cookies
The Guarantor indicates two basic macro-categories with different features: “technical” cookies and “profiling” cookies. Moreover, cookies can be divided between those installed by the owner or operator of the website and so-called “third party” cookies. Technical cookies are used to provide a better service to the user. They are for example used by Analytics platforms, but are also those that the website uses to improve the browsing experience. For example, cookies that remember what you have in your cart or your preferred language are authorised and it is enough simply to provide information on how and why they are used. In other words, their use does not require the user’s consent.

www.divaopera.com does not use profiling cookies

Third party cookies may be used, but the editor must create a description of which cookies are used and why as part of a Privacy Policy (the so-called “Cookie policy” referred to further down). The difference with profiling cookies is that the Guarantor accepts that an editor is not necessarily informed about all third party cookies that are installed and how they work. In this case, it is generally accepted that the editor links the holder of this information – i.e. the third party – to ensure users are adequately informed.

Technical cookies and analytics are the only cookies that we use to make your browsing experience more enjoyable. Instead, we do not use profiling cookies.
